The SUPCON SOLAR Delingha 50MW tower molten-salt CSP plant was featured in the Qinghai episode of CCTV's documentary China in Intangible Cultural Heritage. The plant, wholly developed, designed and constructed by Cosin Solar, has repeatedly appeared on national television and won multiple international awards. Its stable operational performance demonstrates the reliability of China-built CSP technology.

Benchmark Project Proven by Operational Track Record

As one of China's first national CSP demonstration projects, the Delingha 50MW facility uses Cosin Solar's self-developed tower molten-salt technology. Designed annual generation is 146 million kWh, enough to supply more than 80,000 households. Each year, it saves 46,000 tons of standard coal and cuts CO₂ emissions by 121,000 tons.

Commissioned on December 30, 2018, the plant has set multiple industry milestones:

·World's first tower molten-salt CSP plant to exceed its designed annual output.

·Accumulated generation of 582 million kWh from 2022 to 2025, hitting annual targets for four consecutive years.

Two International Certifications

The plant passed a full technical assessment by Fichtner, the independent German engineering consultancy, which confirmed state-of-the-art design and good operating condition of major equipment.

High-precision smart heliostats developed by Cosin Solar passed quality tests by CSP Services (Germany) and DLR (German Aerospace Center), earning the highest “Excellent” rating for low surface-shape error and superior tracking accuracy.

Two SolarPACES awards

Based on the Delingha 50MW project, Cosin Solar has secured two SolarPACES awards:

The autonomous unmanned heliostat-cleaning vehicle designed and developed by Cosin Solar received the SolarPACES 2020 Technical Innovation Award, making Cosin Solar the first Asian CSP company to independently win this honor.

The Delingha project received the inaugural SolarPACES 2025 Implementation Award as the sole winner worldwide.
